Irene Ramsamy (28 October 1913 – 25 February 2022) was a Mauritian centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Mauritius at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Irene Ramsamy was born in Rose-Belle, Grand Port District, Mauritius on 28 October 1913.
She became the oldest known living person in Mauritius, following the death of 110-year-old Mathilde Rousseau on 6 July 2020.
At the age of 108, she had six children, 20 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Irene Ramsamy died in Sainte-Croix, Port Louis District, Mauritius on 25 February 2022 at the age of 108 years, 120 days. Following her death, then 107-year-old Jeanne Venkatsami became the oldest known living person in Mauritius.
