Irving Piken (20 December 1908 – 27 February 2020) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of his death, he was the oldest known living man in the United States.
Biography[]
Irving Piken was born to a Jewish family in Brooklyn, New York, United States on 20 December 1908. [1]He was a life-long Dodgers fan, having watched his first game at the age of eight. His favorite player was Jackie Robinson. Piken graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 1930 and worked as an attorney. He moved to Laguna Woods, California in 1977, where he lived for the rest of his life. He has two children, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Following the death of Lester Townsend on 22 October 2019, Irving Piken became the second-oldest known living man in the USA, and following the death of CP Crawford on 23 November 2019, he became the oldest known living man in the USA. He died on 27 February 2020 at the age of 111 years, 69 days. After his death, Lawrence Brooks became the oldest known living man in the USA.
