Iva Marie Crouse (née Johnson; 8 March 1895 – 8 March 2006) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Crouse was born as Iva Marie Johnson in Steady Run Township, Iowa, United States, on 8 March 1895. She was the youngest of five children born to William King Johnson and Susan D. "Susie" (née Lemon) Johnson.
On 13 September 1914, she married John Earl Crouse and had two children with him: Harold (1917-2006) and Betty (born 1922).
Crouse was widowed after her husband died on 29 October 1979 after 65 years of marriage. She had moved from Steady Run Township to Sigourney, both in Keokuk County, Iowa. Her age claim was validated by Robert Young and officially validated by the GRG on 8 March 2005, her 110th birthday.
Crouse died in Sigourney, Iowa, on 8 March 2006, her 111th birthday.
