Henricus Petrus Jacobus "Jaak" Broekx (born 6 August 1914) is a Belgian centenarian who is currently the oldest known living man in Belgium.


Jaak Broekx was born in Belgium on 6 August 1914. He had 10 siblings. He never married and worked as farmer. After the death of his father in 1984, he lived in his farm with her mother and his sister Christine.

He lived with his sister Christine Broekx until her death on 14 March 2015 at the age of 97.

In October 2016, he was reported as the oldest known living person in Bree, Limburg. He lived alone in his farm until 2020, when moved to the nursing home Welzijnscampus Gerkenberg.

On 16 January 2021 at the age of 106, he received his covid-19 vaccine.

In August 2021, he celebrated his 107th birthday with his cousin Pierre Van Hoef and his nephew and godchild Jaak Tielens.

He became the oldest known living man in Belgium, following the death of 107-year-old Jef Smets on 9 September 2021.

Jaak Broekx currently lives at Welzijnscampus Gerkenberg in Bree, Limburg, Belgium, at the age of 107 years, 121 days.
