James Henderson Holt (25 December 1865 – 7 January 1977) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
James Holt was born in Edwards, Illinois, USA as the son of Joseph and Martha Pelham Holt. He lost both his parents in 1868 and was orphaned along with his three brothers.
The brothers were sent to Cannon, Tennessee and raised by acquaintances of their parents. They came to Ozark, Missouri in the 1870s and James married Clara Hyder in Lamar, Missouri on 1 November 1899. The couple had five children. He was widowed in 1937 and he later remarried to an unknown woman.
Holt died in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA on 7 January 1977 at the age of 111 years, 13 days.
