Jamkhopao Singson (1905? – 24 August 2021) was an Indian longevity claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). He was a patriarch of Manipur, and died at the presumed age of 116. If this statement were true, it would lead him close to the age of the oldest validated man ever in the world, Jiroemon Kimura.
Biography[]
Jamkhopao Singson claimed that he was born in Dailon Village, in Thanlon Sub Division of Churachandpur District, Manipur, British Raj (now India) in 1905. He grew up to be very introverted since he became an orphan after both his parents passed away at an early age.
Singson lived in nine different places during his fruitful life viz. three years at Dailon village, 10 years at Jeikhang village in Pherzawl, 40 years at Torbung, Churachandpur, three years at Henglep, Churachandpur, four years at Koite, Churchandpur, two years at Jalenphai, Saikul Kangpokpi District, one year at Gamphazol in Saitu, Kangpokpi District, 24 years at Thenjol, in Henglep Churachandpur, and 29 years at Tuinom, Churchandpur where he breathes his last.
Singson and his wife Tingkhochong, whom he married in 1940, had four daughters and six sons, most of whom are still alive, except for a daughter and son who were already dead. He has seventy grandchildren and a few great-grandchildren. His wife died in 2010 after 70 years of marriage.
Jamkhopao Singson died in Tuinom, Churchandpur, Manipur, India on 24 August 2021 at the claimed age of at least 116 years, 0 days.
