Jane Lewson claimed to have been born in Westminster City, London, England, UK in 1700 according to Find a Grave website. Lady or Mrs Jane Lewson, as she was known lived at #12 Coldbath Square in Coldbath Fields for over 90 years. Thought to be have been 116 years old. She was born in Essex Street, in the Strand. She was a walking history of the area. She was a very colorful character. She was one of the models for Charles Dicken's Miss Havisham in "Great Expectations". She became a widow at age 26 and never remarried. She had one daughter who married. She seldom went anywhere except to Mr Jones, a grocer on the square and dressed in the style of when she married. Her house was never cleaned or swept with dirt and cobwebs covering everything. She died in 1816 in Clerkenwell, England. She claimed to be a supercentenarian at the time of her death.
