Jeanette Mary Arlotta (11 April 1913 – 23 April 2020) was an American centenarian who was one of the oldest known survivors of COVID-19. After recovering from the virus on her 107th birthday, she died 12 days later.
Biography[]
Jeanette Arlotta was born in Newark, New Jersey, USA on 11 April 1913. She was one of six children born to Giovanni Arlotta and Teresa (née Paolino) Arlotta. At some point she moved to Nutley, New Jersey where she lived most of her life. She was a seamstress with NJ Sportwear Co. in Passaic before retiring.
Arlotta contracted COVID-19 in late March 2020 after suffering flu-like symptoms. She recovered and was released from hospital on her 107th birthday, making her one of the oldest known survivors of the disease. However, she died of undisclosed causes 12 days later on 23 April 2020.
