Jeanie Oliver (née Simpson; 17 August 1880 – 1 March 1992) was a British-born American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Jeanie Oliver was born as Jeanie Simpson in West Kilbride, Ayrshire, Scotland, UK on 17 August 1880. Her parents were Robert Simpson and Mary Simpson. She moved to Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States on 9 May 1910. She married Benjamin Oliver. They had six children. She worked for many years as a self-employed dressmaker. She was a member of the Grace and Hope Mission, Scranton. Her daughter said that newspaper clippings identify her as Glasgow's first telephone operator.

Jeanie Oliver died in Holy Family Residence Nursing Home, Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States on 1 March 1992 at the age of 111 years, 197 days. At the time of her death she had four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
