She lived in Belgrade with her friend, and close to decorator of National Theatre in Belgrade, Stanislav Veljkovic, her future husband. They are married when Jelisaveta was 20 years old. They are married in St. Mark's Church (old church), Tasmajdan Park. Couple had seven children. Her husband passed away in 1983. She had surgery of cataract and because surgery she can't watch television. During her final years, she had bad eyesight and she could no longer read. She attributed her longevity to good genetics in her family, her aunt died at the age of 103 years, and uncle at the age of 104 years.

Jelisaveta Veljkovic (Serbian: Јелисавета Вељковић; 18 July 1904 – 22 October 2016) was a Croatian-Serbian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Serbia.

Veljkovic died in Belgrade, Serbia on 22 October 2016 at the age of 112 years, 96 days. After her death, Djurdja Stojkovic became the oldest known living person in Serbia.
