Biography[]

Jennie Cucco was born in her home in Guttenberg, New Jersey, USA on 28 April 1911. Her parents were Dominic Casamento and Francesca (née DeAngelo) Casamento. Jennie was a seamstress by trade. She experienced over a century of change and took an active part in those changes. At 17, she obtained a drivers license and a car not common for women of the era. She also earned a degree from Egan Business School, truly ahead of her time. She married George Cucco in 1941. She retired from several careers, the latest she embarked on at age 80 and finally permanently retired at age 90. She was very active her entire life, enjoying travel and an active social life. Just before Christmas 2020, Cucco contracted COVID. She was living in Stafford with one of her daughters at the time, but wound up hospitalized. She lived through it — becoming one of the oldest known survivors — but post-COVID complications landed her in a long-term care facility in Toms River.

Cucco died in Manahawkin, New Jersey, USA on 18 June 2021 at the age of 110 years, 51 days.
