Jennie Fitzgerald (née Fudge; 5 December 1895 – 22 January 2007) was a Canadian supercentenarian whose age is validated by Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Jennie Fitzgerald was born in New Brunswick, Canada on 5 December 1895 to Robert Fudge (1851–1937) and Jennie Moore (1854–1924). She had eight siblings: Ada (1882–1969), George (1885–1918), Maud (1888–?), Roy (1889–1979), Frederick (1891–?), William (1893–1983), Harry (1897–1973), and Hazel (1899–1994).

She moved to the United States and married John Spencer (1865–?) in 1922. She later moved back to Canada and married Jamed Fitzergerald (1878–1962) in 1937. She had no children.

She was the oldest living person in Canada from the death of Julie Winnefred Bertrand until her own death just 4 days later. She holds the record for the shortest time spent as Canada's oldest living person. After her death Margaret Fitzgerald became the oldest living person in Canada. She was also the last surviving Canadian born in the year 1895.
