Jennie Beatrice Ramey (née Burton; 19 April 1904 – 30 April 2014) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Jennie Ramey was born as Jennie Beatrice Burton in Clarksville, Tennessee on 19 April 1904. Her parents were Dollie Burton and Henry Workman. She married Raymond Ramey and had seven children with him: Cornelius, Margaret, Sarah, Lottie, Rufus, Norman, and one other. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Round Pound, where she served on the Mother's Board and Cemetery Committee.
Ramey was known affectionately as "Mama Jennie" in later life. By her 110th birthday in 2014, along with seven children, she had had 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Ramey died in Clarksville, Montgomery, Tennessee, USA, on 30 April 2014, at the age of 110 years, 11 days. She was survived by a vast number of family and friends.
