Jenny Francis Edgecombe (16 March 1908 – c.28 October 2015) was a Bahamian centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Bahamas at the time of her death.

Biography[]

Jenny Edgecombe was born in Staniel Creek, Andros, Bahamas on 16 March 1908. She married once at the age of 19. Her husband died three months after the wedding, while out on a fishing trip.  The couple did not produce children together. She never remarried because she dedicated her life to serving the Lord.  However, she had two children – Harriet Strachan, a girl who died at age three and a son, Kenneth Johnson, who grew up and died at 52 years.

She became the oldest known living person in the Bahamas, following the death of 108-year-old Helen Reid on 22 September 2015.

Edgecombe died in Faith Avenue, Nassau, Bahamas around 28 October 2015 at the age of at least 107 years, 220 days.
