Jeremias Jose dos Santos [Portuguese: José] (15 June 1904 – 11 July 2014) was a Brazilian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Jeremias Jose dos Santos born in Pindobacu, Bahia, Brazil on 15 June 1904. He lived in the municipality of Senhor do Bonfim, Bahia for 30 years.
In 1960, he moved to Salvador, Bahia. He worked as a lieutenant for the military police and a commander of the Military Police of Senhor do Bonfim. For some time, he worked in the palace of the Government of the State of Bahia and lastly as a Counselor of the Beneficent Society of the Military Police of Bahia. He was a member of the 4th Battalion of the Military Police a combatant in the Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932. He had 16 children, including Maria Gloria dos Santos, Clelia, Arnaldo, Expedito, Celia and Cleuza. His wife, Angelica de Oliveira Santos, died in 1986.
Jeremias Jose dos Santos died in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil around 01:00 PM on 11 July 2014 at the age of 110 years, 26 days. He was buried at the Jardim da Saudade (Salvador) cemetery.
