Jessie Girling (née Swain; 16 September 1861 – 18 October 1971) was an American supercentenarian whose the age has beeen validated by Gerontology Research Group on 18 November 2021.
Biography[]
Jessie was born in Lockport, New York, United States on 16 September 1871 to George and Cordelia Cornwell Swain. She went to Warrenton, Virginia and made her home with her brother George Swain in 1939. Since 1939 she lived with her grand-niece, Carla Mae Gay. She was a graduate of Buffalo Teachers College and spend 45 years of her life teaching in schools in New York State. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Youngstown and Lewiston, New York.
Girling passed away on 18 October 1971 in New York, aged 110 years, 32 days.
