Joaquina Martins (13 January 1907 – 14 October 2018) was a Portuguese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person from Portugal.
Biography[]
Joaquina Martins was born in Campelos, Lisbon District, Portugal on 13 January 1907. In January 2017, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
She became the oldest known living person from Portugal, following the death of 112-year-old Maria da Conceicao on 9 October 2017.
Martins died in Alcabideche, Lisbon District, Portugal on 14 October 2018 at the age of 111 years, 274 days. Her funeral was at the church of Santa Maria in Agualva-Cacem, Sintra, Lisbon District.
