Johanna Mazibuko (11 May 1894? – 3 March 2023) was a longevity claimant from South Africa to the "World's Oldest Person" title. Her age is currently unvalidated by the Guinness World Records (GWR).
Biography[]
Johanna Mazibuko claimed that she was born in South Africa on 11 May 1894. She was raised on a maize farm in Ottosdal, South Africa. She has lived through British colonialism, apartheid and the era of democracy led by Nelson Mandela, who was elected South Africa's president in 1994. She married Stawana Mazibuko. After getting married, Johanna earned her living by doing domestic work for owners of farms. She had outlived five of her seven children. Her son who was 77 years old in 2013 was a pensioner.
Johanna Mazibuko died in Klerksdorp, a small town south-west of Johannesburg, North West province, South Africa, on 3 March 2023 at the claimed age of 128 years, 296 days.
