John Hightower (1718? – November 1844) was a false or exaggeration claim. According to Hightower's obituary, (12 December 1844) Mr. John Hightower, a revolutionary soldier died recently in Marengo county, Alabama at the advanced age of 126 years. He received a wound at Braddock's defeat, 99 years ago, and served in our revolutionary war. His age can, it is said, be established by an authentic family record. John Hightower claimed to be 126 years old and he died in Alabama, USA.
