Joka Janicic [Montenegrin: Joka Janičić] (30 November 1893 – 16 October 2003) was a Montenegrin centenarian who is one of the oldest people ever in Montenegro. At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Montenegro.
Biography[]
Joka Janicic was born on 30 November 1893 in the village of Macavare, on the border of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1918, she married Jakov Janicic in the village of Brocanac. She had two sons and a daughter with him. Her father lived to be 105 years.
Joka Janicic died in the village of Brocanac, Niksic, Montenegro on 16 October 2003 at the age of 109 years, 320 days. At one time, she might have been the oldest Montenegrin ever, until 2012 when her age was surpassed by Fahrija Mucic.
