Jonathan Tipton (1639? – January 1757) was an longevity claimant. According to his obituary, Tipton claimed to have been born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1639, which place he left when he was young, and has lived almost ever since in Baltimore, Maryland. And has his perfect senses to the last, especially a remarkable strength of memory, his youngest sons are reckoned among the oldest in Baltimore County, Jonathan died in 1757 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, at the claimed age of 118. He married Sarah Tipton and had 3 kids that are known of, Thomas Tipton, William Tipton, and Jonathan Tipton, his half siblings were Robert Tipton and Timothy Tipton, he was born to Edward Tipton and Amy Tipton. Jonathan Tipton's name is listed on Vernon V. Tipton's (1907–1959) gravestone. Vernon's gravestone lists names of his ancestors as a memorial to them, as their graves were unknown or were about to be lost. Tipton was buried at the Fairmount Cemetery In Middletown, Missouri, USA.
