Josefa Bezerra da Silva (6 January 1906? – 21 December 2020) was a Brazilian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). If validated, she would have been the third-oldest living person in Brazil, behind Francisca Celsa dos Santos and Antonia da Santa Cruz, and the nineth-oldest living person in the world at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Josefa Bezerra da Silva claimed to have been born in Brazil on 6 January 1906. She married and had at least two children. Later, she was abandoned by her husband and had to take care of children with her father.
In January 2016, she celebrated her claimed 110th birthday. She lived with her daughter Elza da Silva (aged 64 in October 2018) and her granddaughter Maria das Gracas.
Josefa Bezerra da Silva died of natural causes in Bezerros, Pernambuco, Brazil on 21 December 2020 at the claimed age of 114 years, 350 days. She was survived by two children, nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
