Josefina Quiros Soto [Spanish: Josefina Quirós Soto] (12 April 1905 – 7 October 2015) was a Costa Rican supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Costa Rica at the time of her death. Her age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Josefina Quiros Soto was born in Grecia, Alajuela, Costa Rica on 12 April 1905 to parents Amadeo Quiros Fonseca and Belarmina Soto Quiros.
In December 1928, she married Fernando Vega Kopper, with whom she had two sons and two daughters. She was a distant relative of oldest Costa Rican person ever and the former first lady Marita Camacho Quiros.
Josefina Quiros Soto died in Liberia, Guanacaste, Costa Rica on 7 October 2015 at the age of 110 years, 178 days. Following her death, then 109-year-old Celina Fernandez Pacheco, became the oldest known living person in Costa Rica.
