Joseph "Peppi" Gellel (21 August 1905 – 25 May 2010) was a Maltese centenarian who was the oldest known living man in Malta at the time of his death.
Biography[]
Joseph Gellel was born in Vittoriosa, Malta on 21 August 1905. He worked for many years as a tailor in Strada Brittanica (now Hilda Tabone Street). He married Rozina and had six children (including Tony). Gellel retired at the age of 61. His wife died around 1990.
Gellel died in Vittoriosa, Malta on 25 May 2010 at the age of 104 years, 277 days. He is currently the second oldest known man ever from Malta, behind John Farrugia (1901–2007).
