Jozef Krizek [Slovakian: Krížek] (30 November 1919 – 9 December 2022) was a Slovakian centenarian who was the oldest known living man in Slovakia at the time of his death.

Biography[]

Jozef Krizek was born in Austria-Hungary (present-day Slovakia) on 30 November 1919. He had eight children.

In 2021, at the age of 101, Krizek contracted COVID-19 during the coronavirus pandemic. He was hospitalized in the Kysucka hospital with a polyclinic in Cadca, where he received oxygen support and medical care. He had successfully recovered by 26 March 2021, making him one of the oldest known survivors of the disease in Slovakia.

He became the oldest known living man in Slovakia, following the death of 103-year-old Jan Palovsky on 5 December 2022.

Krizek died in Zborov nad Bystricou, Zilina, Slovakia on 9 December 2022 at the age of 103 years, 9 days.
