Jozef Lukovic [Slovakian: Jozef Lukovič] (29 November 1913 – 26 January 2018) was a Slovakian centenarian who was the oldest known living man in Slovakia at the time of his death.

Biography[]

Jozef Lukovic was born in Bohunice, Austria-Hungary, (now Jaslovské Bohunice), Slovakia on 29 November 1913.

He founded a sports club in his hometown. He studied at the Ján Hollé Gymnasium in Trnava and was already active in athletics, volleyball and football during this period. He worked at the Faculty of Pedagogy of the Charles University, at the Department of Physical Education and Sports, in the position of assistant professor, but also as a coach of volleyball teams for teenagers and women.

Lukovic also received several awards. He received the Award of the city of Trnava for the development of sports in 2013, but also the Honorary Citizenship of the Trnava Self-governing Region.

He became the oldest known living man in Slovakia, following the death of 105-year-old Rudolf Kosa on 6 December 2017.

Lukovic died in Trnava, Slovakia on 26 January 2018, at the age of 104 years, 58 days. Following his death, then 103-year-old Juraj Gabura became the oldest known living man in Slovakia.
