Juan Antonio Blanchar (31 December 1900? – 31 October 2012) was a Colombian Supercentenarian claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). If his claimed age is true, he would have been the oldest living man in Colombia at time of his death.
Biography[]
Juan Antonio Blanchar claimed to have been born in Fonseca, La Guajira, Colombia on 31 December 1900. His grandfather dedicated his whole life to agriculture, specifically to the cultivation of corn. He had seven children with Isabel Iguarán and one outside the home, he lived with María Iguarán Blanchar, one of his daughters who was 79 years old in 2012. In December 2010, he celebrated his 110th birthday.
Juan Antonio Blanchar died in La Guajira, Colombia on 31 October 2012 at the claimed age of 111 years, 305 days. At the time of his death he had 80 grandchildren, 200 great-grandchildren and 50 great-great-grandchildren.
