Juana Zuniga (Spanish: Zúñiga; July 1908 – fl.27 May 2020) was a Chilean supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). Zuniga was also notable for being one of the oldest survivors of COVID-19, which she contracted at the age of 111 during the coronavirus pandemic.

Biography[]

Zuniga was born in the city of Valparaiso, Valparaiso Region, Chile, in July 1908. She spent her youth working in Valparaiso. She never married nor had children, so she lived with her sister. After her sister died, she moved to Hogar Italiano in January 2014. On 12 April 2020, she tested positive for COVID-19; however, as of 10 May 2020, she successfully recovered.

Zuniga was last known to be alive on 27 May 2020 at the age of at least 111 years, 301 days. At that time, she lived in Hogar Italiano, Nunoa, Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile.
