Juanita Mitchell was born in USA on 15 December 1911.
Mitchell moved to Chicago in 1919 at the age of 7, with her mother and her sister. Shortly after, she witnessed the Chicago race riot of 1919, which happened during the Red Summer. When it began, she was staying on the South Side with her uncle.
Mitchell had at least two children (including Mary Muse (aged 68 in December 2021)). She drove until age 96.
In December 2021, she celebrated her 110th birthday at the Olympia Fields Country Club. Her longevity secret is her belief in God.
Mitchell currently lives in Olympia Fields, Illinois, USA at the age of 110 years, 40 days. She currently is the fourth-oldest known living person in Illinois, after Alice Thompson, Vivian Forst and Susie Lewis.
