Julia Amant (née Valentin; 22 June 1911 – 30 October 2021) was a French supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2022.

Biography[]

Amant was born as Julia Valentin in Pouzols, Monlet, Haute-Loire, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France on 22 June 1911. On 20 September 1932, she married Pierre Amant (1907–1986), they had three children. Before retiring in 1972, they worked at a butchers shop in Saint-Georges, France.

In November 1999, Amant moved into a retirement home located in Saint-Paulien, Haute-Loire, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France.

In June 2021, she celebrated her 110th birthday. According to the director of her nursing home, she was reserved and often tired, but did not hesitate to celebrate her birthday.

At the time of her 110th birthday, she had two living children , six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Her son Roger Amant died on 26 October 2021 at the age of 82. Julia Amant died four days later in Saint-Paulien, Haute-Loire, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France on 30 October 2021 at the age of 110 years, 130 days.
