Julijana Jamsek [Slovenian: Julijana Jamšek] (née Vozelj; 30 December 1906 – 9 July 2013) was a Slovenian centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Slovenia at the time of her death.

Biography[]

Julijana Jamšek was born in Upper Carniola, Austria-Hungary (now Slovenia), on 30 December 1906. Her mother died when she was three days old, and her father remarried. She had five sisters and one brother.

In 1929, she married Martin Jamšek and moved to a farm in Krnica near Gorje. They had nine daughters and are built the house in the village Selise, municipality of Moravce. Her husband died in 1959. The farm was very big so she had to work hard that she can feed her family.

At the age of 101, she moved to Klek near Trbovlje, to live with her daughter's family. On her 104th birthday in 2010, she had nine daughters, 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

On 31 March 2013, following the death of 107-year-old Ana Marija Kern, she became the oldest known living person in Slovenia.

Julijana Jamšek died in Klek, Trbovlje, Central Sava, Slovenia, on 9 July 2013, at the age of 106 years, 191 days. Following her death, then 106-year-old Marija Rihar became the oldest known living person in Slovenia.
