Julius Kubelka (16 September 1899 – 16 March 2005) was a Romanian-born Czech centenarian who was the oldest known living man in the Czech Republic at the time of his death.

Biography[]

Julius Kubelka was born in Suceava County, Transylvania, Austria-Hungary (now Romania), on 16 September 1899. At the age of 40, he moved to Hradec Králové for work, where he worked as a tax officer. His father was originally from Červený Kostelec, Hradec Králové Region, and his mother was Hungarian. At some point, he married and had children.

On 16 September 1999, he celebrated her 100th birthday, becoming a centenarian. At the age of 104, he still spoke five languages, read, and enjoyed watching the news on television.

On 9 August 2003, following the death of 107-year-old Alois Vocásek, he became the oldest known living man in the Czech Republic.

Julius Kubelka died in Hradec Králové, Hradec Králové Region, Czech Republic, on 16 March 2005, at the age of 105 years, 181 days. Following his death, then 105-year-old Vojtěch Dvorský became the oldest known living man in the Czech Republic.
