Justo Jose Velasquez [Spanish: Justo Jose Velásquez] (born 27 May 1917) is a Honduran centenarian who is currently the oldest known (documented) living man in Honduras.
Biography[]
Justo Jose Velasquez was born in Danli, El Paraiso, Honduras, on 27 May 1917 (claims 7 May 1917), to Tranquilino Velásquez and Manuela Vásquez. He had 6 siblings.
Sometime in the 1980s, he moved to El Progreso, Yoro.
On 9 February 2025, following the death of 108-year-old Cipriano Sabillon Pineda, he became the oldest known living man in Honduras; although Jose Ceferino Tinoco claimed to be older, his case was debunked.
On 7 May 2025, he celebrated his claimed 108th birthday (although he was still 107). When asked about the secret to his longevity, he attributed his faith and walk in God. His advice to young people is to go to church and have a good relationship with God. His caretaker is his daughter-in-law, Rosalina Vegas, whose husband (Velasquez's son) had died ten years prior. His diet consists of three meals a day: three tortillas in the morning, afternoon, and night.
Justo Jose Velasquez currently lives in El Progreso, Yoro, Honduras, at the age of 108 years, 258 days (claims 108 years, 278 days).
