Kama Nakasone [Japanese: 仲宗根蒲] (23 November 1891 – 1 January 2003) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography[]
Kama Nakasone was born in Ishikawa (now Uruma), Okinawa Prefecture, Japan on 23 November 1891.
In his later years, Nakasone maintained a positive and enthusiastic outlook on life. Robert Young wrote of him aged 110, "what's more remarkable is that he appears full of life, not waiting to die."
Nakasone died in Gushikawa (now Uruma), Okinawa Prefecture, Japan on 1 January 2003, at the age of 111 years, 39 days. At the time of his death, he was the eighth-oldest living man in the world, the fourth-oldest living man in Japan, and the oldest living man in Okinawa Prefecture. As of 2020, he remains in the top 100 oldest verified men ever.
