Kamu Tongnumchokdee [Thai: คามู ทองนุชกดี] (8 May 1894? – 24 July 2013) was a Thai longevity claimant who claimed to have been the world’s oldest living person at the time of his death.
Biography[]
Kamu Tongnumchokdee claimed to have been born in the province of Mae Hong Sorn, Thailand, on 8 May 1894. He lived in Muang Pam Ville in Pang Ma Pha. In July 2013, Mae Hong Son Governor Narumon Palawat said Kamu was the country’s oldest known living person and the province would nominate him for the title of the world’s oldest living person to the Guinness Book of World Records. He belonged to the local ethnic group of White Karen. He had four children.
Kamu Tongnumchokdee died in Thailand on 24 July 2013, at the claimed age of 119 years, 77 days. At the time of his death, he was believed to be oldest known living claimant in Thailand. His alleged age was never verified by Guinness World Records.
