Kane Mori [Japanese: 森カネ] (25 March 1906 – 22 February 2018) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2022. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Nagasaki Prefecture.
Biography
Kane Mori was born on 25 March 1906 in Japan. According to her, secret of her long life was eating sashimi. When she was 82 years old, she climbed the top of the Taradake Mountain (Japanese: 多良岳) and continued to play the gateball until the age of 92.
Kane Mori passed away in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan on 22 February 2018 around 10 AM at age of 111 years, 334 days. She was buried in Isahaya City on 23 February. Upon her death, Ichi Hatta (born 6 December 1906) became the oldest living person in Nagasaki Prefecture.
