Kang Chang-il (February 1912 – 29 October 2021) was a centenarian from North Korea.
Biography[]
Kang Chang-il was born in Pyongyang, North Korea in February 1912. In 1945 she moved to Seoul, South Korea and later in 1971 in Chicago, United States. She died in Niles Nursing Home in Chicago, Illinois, United States on 29 October 2021 at the age of 109 years, 242-270 days. She had seven children and over 30 grand-children. Her third son-in-law, Deacon Young-kwang Jeon, served as a scientific adviser to the former US President and is currently living in Chicago as a founding researcher who researched and designed the Korean Scientific and Technological Revolution at KAIST in Korea.
