Karl Haidle (Born 2 September 1915) is a German centenarian who is currently the oldest known living man and the oldest living world war II veteran in Germany. He is the last surviving german man born in 1915.

Biography[]

Karl Haidle was born in Germany on 2 September 1915. He became a mechanic and was then drafted into the Reich Labour Service and later the Wehrmacht. He was stationed as a Gebirgsjäger in Austria and later served as a runner, carrying messages between units. He ended up in Yugoslavian war captivity in 1944 and returned to Germany 3 years later.

After his return to Germany he helped his father on his farm, which he later took over. Haidle married his wife Frieda in 1955 and also took over the company of his Parents in law. He still drove his car at the age of 100 and stayed active.

He became the last known surviving man in Germany born in 1915 after the death of Valdemar Prukner and the oldest known living man in Germany after the death of Karlheinz Stauber on 17 Febuary 2024.

Karl Haidle currently lives in Kernen im Remstal, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany at the age of 109 years, 93 days.
