Katharina Stahl (10 November 1913 - fl. 1 September 2024) was a Bulgarian-born German supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the oldest living Bulgarian-born person.
Biography[]
Katharina Stahl was born in Sofia in Bulgaria as ethnical German-Serb. She married in 1934 and had 2 daughters. They fled from Bulgaria when world war II broke out and she lost her 2 daughters, which she would reunite with after 2 years. She got very sick during that time and said that her faith in god helped her during those terrible times.
She moved to Germany later on and has been living in the same nursing home for over 10 years. She is reportingly always found busy in her room with either her plants or creating candels that she likes to give away. She is also known for being active and very open about her life, as she likes talking about her past.
Katharina Stahl went into limbo on 1 September 2024 in Kontral-Münchingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany at the age of 110 years, 296+ days.
