Kathryn Gemme (née Moreau; 9 November 1894 – 29 December 2006) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
She was born in Massachusetts on 9 November 1894. She married Ovella Gemme (1894–1963). The couple had 2 daughters: Lillian "Lil" Bete (c.1917–2002) and Lucille Marie Findley (1918–2011).
She died in Middleborough, Massachusetts on 29 December 2006 at the age of 112 years, 50 days. She was survived by one daughter, 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. At the time of her death, she was the 8th oldest living American, and the 20th oldest living person.
Oldest Red Sox fan title[]
After the death of Fred Hale in 2004, Gemme, aged 110, became the oldest living Red Sox fan. On her 111th birthday, the Red Sox brought her the 2004 trophy.
