Kathryn Geyer (15 September 1903 – 7 August 2015) was a validated American supercentenarian.
Biography
Kathryn Geyer was born in Alverton County, Pennsylvania, USA, on 15 September 1903. In total, she had eight other siblings; all of them were older than her. She was married for over a decade, but the couple didn’t have any children. Geyer worked for 35 years as a second-grade teacher in several schools in the Scottdale area. Her hobbies include ”making her own jewellery, greeting cards and crocheting”. In addition, she was fond of travelling with school colleagues when she was younger.
At age 108, she was still living alone in her apartment, using a walker to transport herself. Physically and mentally fit throughout most of her centenarian years, she was able to go on long walks and took no medicines until a fall in April 2011, which resulted in a broken hip and shoulder.
When she was 108, she attributed her long life to never drinking nor smoking, as well as avoiding doctors.
Kathryn Geyer died in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, USA, on 7 August 2015, aged 111 years, 326 days.
