Kim Geum-seon [Korean: 김금선] (December 1882/December 1883? – fl.18 January 1991) was a North Korean centenarian claim.
Biography[]
Kim Geum-seon claimed to have been born in North Korea between December 1882 and December 1883. She had four children, and gave birth to her youngest son at the claimed age of 55.
Kim liked traditionnel dishes, like naengmyeon and mung bean stew. She woke up at 6 a.m., and used to take care of the flowers or to watch the fishes in the aquarium during the morning.
In December 1990, Kim was reported as the oldest living person in Pyongyang by the Choson Sinbo. At the time, her youngest daughter was aged 78, and her youngest son was aged 52. She was reported to be in good health, and was able to sew and to read newspapers without glasses.
Kim Geum-seon was last known to be alive on 18 January 1991, at the claimed age of at least 107 years, 18 days. At that time, she lived in Oesong-gu Gyogu-dong (now Gyogu-dong), Central Ward, Pyongyang, North Korea.
