Trifilios Konstantinos Papadamis [Greek; Τριφύλιος Κωνσταντίνος Παπαδάμης] (26 December 1900 – 4 August 2010) was a Greek centenarian who was the oldest known living man and person in Greece at the time of his death. He is the oldest known man ever who was born and died in Greece.

Biography[]

Konstantinos Papadamis was born in the village Elia in Sithonia, on the Chalkidiki peninsula, Central Macedonia, 12 kilometers from the ancient settlement of Nikiti, Greece on 26 December 1900. At the age of 27, he married a girl from Sidirokastro, Greece. But life hit him mercilessly when, at the age of 37, he lost his son to pneumonia. However, the blow of fate was double, because he lost his wife and son, who was later killed by an agricultural tractor. He felt that he was close to God and went to church every Sunday.

He became the oldest known living person in Greece, following the death of 109-year-old Elpida Moschopoulos on 19 March 2010.

Papadamis died Messenia, Peloponnese, Greece on 4 August 2010, at the age of 109 years, 221 days. Following the his death, then 109-year-old Maria Papakyriakou became the oldest known living person in Greece.
