Lake Dickson (née Simpson; 19 January 1897 – 30 January 2009) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Lake Dickson was born as Lake Simpson in Burlington, North Carolina, United States on 19 January 1897. She spent her childhood in Atlanta before moving to Gastonia in 1910. There, she married Ruth S. Dickson, and got four children. She eventually moved to Charlotte in 1929. They were married for 49 years.
One of her main hobbies was gardening. She was a member of multiple organizations such as the Myers Park Baptist Church, Charlotte Garden Club, Charlotte Debutante Club, Quail Hollow Country Club, and the Charlotte Country Club.
Dickson died in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States on 30 January 2009 at the age of 112 years, 11 days. She was survived by her four children, 11 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
