Laura Ho(e)jgaard (Faroese: Laura Højgaard) (2 July 1912 – 13 January 2018) was a Faroese centenarian.
Biography
Laura Ho(e)jgaard was born on 2 July 1912 to parents Hanus Hoejgaard and Louisa Hoejgaard. She was born and raised in Havn (Torshavn). On 2 July 2012, she turned 100. After the death of a 103 yearold woman (born in Jan. 1912) in August 2015, she became the oldest living woman in the Faroes. After the death of Theodor Thomassen on 9 March 2016, she became the oldest (known) person alive in the Faroes.
Laura Hoejgaard died at Lagargardur in Torshavn on 13 January 2018, at the age of 105 years, 193 days. She is the second-oldest (known) woman ever from the Faroe Islands
