Laurence Cochet was born in Isere, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France on 16 May 1910. She had at least one son: Jean-François. In May 2020, she celebrated her 110th birthday.

Laurence Cochet died in Voiron, Isere, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France on 17 November 2020 at the age of 110 years, 185 days. She was the oldest living person in Isere at the time of her death, and the second-oldest living person in Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes behind Marcel Meys.
