Lela Schnorf (née O'Callaghan; 29 November 1905 – 2 April 2017) was an American supercentenarian who is validated. She was born and resided in Ohio, USA, until her death.
Biography[]
Lela Schnorf was born Lela Mae O'Callaghan on 29 November 1905 to parents Henry Marshall and Amanda (née Wieland) O'Callaghan in Ohio, United States. In 1924, she graduated from Waite High School. In that same year, aged 19, she survived a serious car accident. She was pinned down by a car, which resulted in her breaking multiple vertebrae in her back.
On 25 October 1930, she married Brandon Schnorf Sr., a lawyer, in Lucas, Ohio. She had 2 sons, Brandon G. Schnorf Jr. and David M. Schnorf, who both grew up to be lawyers.
Her son David is now deceased, but Brandon Jr. is still alive, aged 84 at the time of Lela's 110th birthday. She was the second-oldest person in Ohio, behind Lessie Brown (born 22 September 1904).
Lela Schnorf passed away on 2 April 2017 at the age of 111 years, 124 days.
