Leonora Johanna Pennarts-Elfferich (22 June 1912 – 20 October 2021) was an Indonesian-born Dutch centenarian.

Biography[]

Pennarts-Elfferich was born in Java, Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) on 22 June 1912. Her parents were Leonardus Johannes Elfferich (1879–1953) and Petronella Adriana Bosman (1883–1971).

She married Jacob Hubert Pennarts (1904–1960) in The Hague on 18 August 1931. The couple had two children (both deceased as of July 2018).

She moved to the Netherlands in 1957. She lived in The Hague, in Limburg and for a while in Spain until settling in Soest in 1970. She became the oldest living person in Utrecht after the death of Anne Brasz-Later on 2 September 2020.

As of July 2018, she had five grandchildren (including Hans Paul), 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Pennarts-Elfferich died in Soest, Utrecht, Netherlands on 20 October 2021 at the age of 109 years, 120 days. At the time of her death, she was the third-oldest known living person in the Netherlands, behind Maria Luisa Benjamin and Ebeltje Boekema-Hut.
