Lexie Settle Holbrook (22 November 1907 – 30 March 2018) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography
Holbrook was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina, USA, on 22 November 1907. She was one of seven children born to Watson and Ella Tharpe Settle. In her youth, she worked on the family farm. She married Paul Holbrook on 6 June 1936, and the couple had two sons, Larry and Kenneth. Paul and his father operated a mill until the couple moved to North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, in 1944, where Lexie operated a small neighborhood store. Paul died in 1966.
Holbrook lived independently until she was 98, when she fell and broke her arm. She moved to a retirement community in North Wilkesboro in 2006, where she lived until her death on 30 March 2018, aged 110 years, 128 days. She had four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
