Lilian Wignall (1 October 1907 – 12 October 2018) was a British supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group. She is the oldest ever person from the English county of Leicestershire.
Biography
Wignall was born in Leicester, England, on 1 October 1907. She and her husband Harry, who died in 1979, had two children – Keith and Brian. She has five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In 2014, at the age of 106, she was made a Freeman of Leicester, and is reportedly the oldest living Freeman in the world.
Wignall celebrated her 110th birthday in October 2017 and still lived in her own home in Braunstone, Leicestershire, England. She died on 12 October 2018 at the age of 111 years, 11 days.
